How we metWe met in late September, 1995 at the College Sunday School class at Eastside Baptist Church when Uli had arrived upon starting college. I was a member at the church since childhood. We began dating on October 18, 1996, after spending a year becoming best friends. When we got engagedSaturday, April 17, 1999 two and one half years after our first date. How it happenedI took her to the historic 1848 House in Marietta, a restaurant that used to be a Civil War era plantation home. This is a wonderful place with a very interesting history. It survived Sherman's burning of Atlanta in the Civil War because it was used as a hospital for the Union Army. After dinner, we strolled around the grounds. At a convenient bench, I asked her to marry me. She said yes. ABOUT OUR WEDDINGWhereEastside Baptist Church, Marietta, Georgia. WhenWe have been happily married since October 9, 1999 at 2pm.
